Improve passenger experience at the self service drop off point with self tagging labels

Bag Tags that require well-trained agents to be properly applied, do not seamlessly fit the upcoming need for self service BagDrop in combination with self tagging. Therefore, we designed a passenger friendly Bag Tag, forcing new technologies to be introduced. Together with two major stakeholders in the ATI, development started and many tests were done over and over again. Test to proof the bonding of the adhesive, test to confirm capability of converting the material into labels but also tests with printers that would be able to print the new Bag Tag material; not every printer is able to handle the liner less technology. And with every test we learned more and more about the behavior of the material, either in the print shop, but much more important in the passenger terminal. Self Service Bagdrop and our BagTags affect the entire passenger process.
